Mental health benefits drastically changed during the pandemic.
November 9, 2021 — Anxiety, grief, fear, worry and loneliness are just a few ways to describe how the pandemic has plagued our society. And unfortunately, these issues are not going away.
According to McKinsey, 49% of global employees report feeling burned out, with an overwhelming 56% of respondents identifying as Americans. And although these issues are so common, it is still astoundingly difficult for today’s employee to easily access mental health care. The Washington Business Journal interviewed OneDigital’s Regional Wellbeing Consultant Kelly Holt on how the mental health space has evolved.
Leadership plays a crucial role here and can help to create a stigma-free culture. They can do that by sending out a message stressing the importance of mental health support at their workplace. This includes training their managers to address the mental health crisis, and empathy with employees. Also, making mental health and physical health an equal conversation.”
