This month, my son’s high school team will kick off their 2018 lacrosse season in hopes of another amazing year. Before the boys even stepped on the field, they completed a few months of conditioning, a lengthy tryout process and several weeks of long (and cold) practices. We graduated 16 seniors from last year’s championship team. With many new faces, it was important to me that I shared a simple message for our first team meeting – Be 100% Committed! To be the best, you first have to be committed- committed to you goals, committed to the process, committed to your teammates and most importantly, committed to yourself. As our team learned last year, when you give 100% of yourself, amazing things can happen.
In sports, business or personal goals, it all starts with your level of commitment. We are entering that time of year when you and your manager will set goals and priorities for your work in 2018. I urge you to think carefully about each one and avoid holding back. Commit yourself not only to the goals we’ve set as an organization, but to those regarding your personal growth and development as well. I have always found that individual and team success start with passion and genuine commitment to your aspirations. When you are excited about what you are doing and challenge yourself, it has an impact on your work and thus the likelihood of your ultimate success rises exponentially.
As I look back at OneDigital’s success throughout the years, we have endured many changes. We have changed models, strategies, investors and even our company name. However, the one thing that has remained constant and core in our identity is the level of commitment from our team. I am blessed to be surrounded by people who are passionate and committed to their personal goals as well as the collective goals of OneDigital. These are individuals who have a thirst for excellence, have the courage to lead and are relentless in the pursuit of their goals. Through this full level of commitment, we continue to inspire each other and bring OneDigital to new heights.
I look forward to supporting each of you in the goals you’ve set for yourself and your team. So, whatever your aspirations for 2018 and beyond, “throw yourself into it” and Be 100% Committed.
